From The Portable Jukebox

A few years ago, a portable jukebox was discovered which belonged to John Lennon in the 1960s. The jukebox contained a playlist of 40 records - soul, R&B and Rock 'n' Roll - written in Lennon's own handwriting.

These are the songs which shaped his musical education and they reveal many of the original sources of inspiration for his later songwriting.

From the PBS documentary, "John Lennon's Jukebox, which premiered on September 8, 2004 and was rebroadcast on May 18, 2006.
