Why the levees broke

Interview with Times-Picayune journalist, Mark Schleifstein, who says that the lack of commitment to public infrastructure is to blame for Katrina flooding.
The levees designed by the Army Corps of Engineers were incorrect and did not account for the effects of a category 5 hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico.
In the Netherlands, they responded to a massive 1953 flood by designing a levee system that will last 10,000 years, not only 100.
Schleifstein says that nationally, the US infrastructure is broken down down and nobody wants to pay to rebuild it.
