Army Corps of Engineers buries New Orleans records

Want to look up the status of the New Orleans levee system?

It used to be as easy as contacting the Corps local librarian. Now all the records have been removed to a warehouse and the public no longer has access to them.

Is this one of the Corp’s post-Katrina improvements?

    Thanks for reposting this, Ken.
We hung it yesterday and went to the site to vote on the video, and whoa, the place is packed with nolafugees from around the country! Go say hi.
I went ahead and hung your post today because of its lede, which is just like another story from Arizona where the Corps removed data on the Santa Cruz river (which had been used to designate it “navigable” ergo protected) but the town could no longer find the data…the Corps had erased an entire study!
